This integrated vertical roller mill slag fine powder production station is a complete turnkey solution we delivered to a large cement manufacturing group located in southern Vietnam. The local steel industry generates massive quantity of steel slag waste every year, while domestic cement plants and precast component factories face long-term raw material shortages of high-activity mineral blending powder. Previously most local cement producers purchased finished slag powder from outside regions with high transportation cost, so this client planned to build an independent full-process grinding station nearby steel mills to reuse industrial waste and cut raw material expenditure.

After analyzing the grindability, activity index and moisture content of local steel slag samples in our factory lab, we selected heavy-duty vertical roller mill as core grinding equipment. Instead of running the mill at its maximum 42 tons per hour overload limit, we set the daily stable running capacity at 23 tons per hour. Balanced mild load operation can effectively reduce abrasion of grinding rollers, grinding table and wear-resistant lining plates, extending the service cycle of core vulnerable parts and lowering annual factory maintenance cost significantly.

The factory adopts dual-shift working mode widely used by local large industrial manufacturers. Two separate 8-hour production shifts operate each working day, with one hour reserved for equipment heat dissipation, inner cavity residue cleaning and overall safety inspection. Under steady 23t/h continuous production state, roughly 368 tons of high-activity qualified slag fine powder can be produced every single day. Powder fineness can be freely adjusted between 120 mesh and 400 mesh to meet different activity standards required by cement production, wall panel and road base material factories.

On-Site Station Layout And Complete Equipment Matching Information

The whole slag grinding station adopts compact multi-layer steel frame integrated layout, matched with independent raw slag feeding silo and fully sealed finished powder storage silo to realize automatic closed-loop production without manual material transfer links. All main grinding equipment, conveying pipelines, sealing fittings, pulse dust removal unit and intelligent PLC control system are delivered as one complete package, so the client does not need to source any auxiliary matching parts separately on site. Two experienced senior technical engineers from our team traveled to the project site to supervise steel frame assembly, mill hoisting, pipeline docking and full-line stable commissioning, and the whole station reached formal profitable production within 27 days after all goods arrived at the port.

A full closed-loop processing workflow covers raw slag feeding, vertical roller fine grinding, powder classification, pulse bag dust collection and sealed finished powder storage, forming an uninterrupted production chain without processing dead zones. All steel frame components, conveying pipelines, connecting flanges, sealing gaskets, driving motors and auxiliary machinery are pre-assembled and fully tested inside our factory before shipment, with unified standard connecting ports. Local construction crews can complete frame assembly and equipment docking directly without extra cutting, welding or on-site modification work, greatly compressing overall construction cycle and enabling the client to launch formal slag powder sales much faster.

The matched PLC control cabinet adopts streamlined intuitive touch operation panel, which clearly displays real-time running data including raw slag feeding speed, finished powder fineness, main motor load and equipment operating current.
